Answer is YES!
I recently just watched the reboot of the Spider-man franchise, "The Amazing Spider-Man" starring the amazing Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone and it was AMAZING!

To be honest, I had my doubts about this film because most people were calling it the "middle child" of summer blockbuster movies! You had the release of the Avengers movie in May, the suspension for Scott Ridley's Prometheus and Twi-hards everywhere were anticipating the darker "Snow White and the Huntsmen" in June, and a HUGE crowd waiting forever for the last installment of the "Dark Knight Rises" coming around next week. Poor Spidey was stuck in the middle and there wasn't much hype or "must-see" super fans as there were and are for the other aforementioned movies.
Click the jump for more and Garfield's Superhero moment!
At first I didn't care much for Spider-Man, even though this movie is targeted for the "Y" generation that is me! ("Y" is for the "Younger/New"). But when I did watch it, I fell head over heels for Andrew Garfield as a well-defined awkward, young and rebellious Peter Parker in high school and how sincere he played the character. Also, there was a strong chemistry between Garfield and Emma Stone (who played Gwen Stacey), and not surprisingly, they're dating in real life! I don't think any other actor or actress could have pulled such an amazing performance, (OK I'll stop using Amazing. . .) since they have such cute and likable personalities! I searched up interviews and PR bits for the two of the them and the words I used to describe them is exactly cute and likable! After watching their performances and stunts, I just want the two of them to succeed! I can't wait to see what else is in store for the two! (obviously sequels are in talks but that's in a couple of years)
It goes to show that in Hollywood, you really REALLY need fans to like you! Interviews are one of the main source for fans to get to know the actor and in turn, that 10 mins or 20 mins time frame is all the actors have to reel us in and sell themselves to us! After the movie, I told my friend that "it's easier to like funny and comedic actors because it's safe to assume that in real life, they're ACTUALLY funny and comedic!" I mean, how can you act "funny" without having a knack for making your friends and family laugh?
The movie did REALLY well, most people I would say, were very relieved and happy that the movie did very well, earning $35 million on it's opening day (which was a Tuesday?) and earning $176 million to date. Sadly, Spidey only has one more week to make some "mula" until Batman rises again on July 20th and takes box office domination!
It may be the blockbuster middle child of the summer, but many fans are still willing to swing sideways for the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!

PS. I found the most endearing and "cute" clip of Andrew Garfield at last year's Comic Con for the Spider-Man panel. Ladies, you will totally swoon!

Here is a hilarious bit that Emma Stone did for SNL (Saturday Night Live) for the promo of Spider-Man.
